REMEMBRANCE / ZACHOR

Date: August 6, 2023 (Sunday), 7.30 p. m. Place: the Grey House, 3 Jerozolimska Street Price: Free of charge Booking: edukacja@plaszow.org
Description: Evidence relating to the operation of KL Plaszow was destroyed in July and August 1944. The Germans transferred the prisoners further into German territory, carried away disassembled components of camp infrastructure, and hid traces of crime by incinerating the exhumed bodies of their victims. However, the liquidation process, aimed principally at removing all traces of camp operations, failed to fully accomplish its goals. Tangible relics and accounts of the survivors remained. There are also people who remember and wish to revive the dispersed memory of the camp - not only those working at the Museum, but also individuals, local inhabitants and visitors from all over the world.

Participation in the event

The KL Plaszow Museum invites you to participate in commemorating the events related to the history of camp Plaszow and its prisoners. Forms of commemoration include reflecting on the words of the prisoners of KL Plaszow who began their long journey here; a journey from which many did not return.

You can participate in the commemoration event in one of two roles: those who wish to read quotes from the accounts given by the prisoners are invited to register their participation by email: edukacja@plaszow.org. In response, you will receive a quote to be read in public during the commemorative event. Registration mails will be received until 4 August.

Others can join us on this symbolic anniversary and commemorate the prisoners by listening to their accounts.
