Description:
The preserved part of former KL Plaszow is a green area today. However, its landscape covers the history of the German Nazi forced labour and concentration camp that functioned in the years 1942–1945. The key material that introduces the past of this site is formed by the accounts of witnesses - former prisoners, and photographs taken both in the time of camp operation and after the war.
During a tour combined with a narrative of history, we will see photographs taken during the war and post-war era. We will introduce the participants to the past of this site, and the history of photograph collections.

- Where does the tour begin and end?
The tour begins and ends in the same location, at the Fascism Victim Memorial near Kamieńskiego Street.
- How long will the tour last?
The tour is planned to take about two hours.
- How do I get to and return from the memorial site?
The easiest way of getting to the tour starting point is on public transport. The Kamieńskiego bus stop near the Nazi Victim Memorial is serviced by bus lines: 144, 165, 169, 173, 174, 179, 301, 304, 469, 904.
- How should I prepare for the tour?
The group of visitors participating in the tour will walk across diverse terrain, mainly along paths with gravel surfaces and asphalt-paved roads. Please check the weather forecast to choose suitable clothing, remember to protect your head on sunny hot days, wear comfortable shoes, and take a bottle of water. Take an umbrella or a raincoat with a hood if rain is forecast.
Visitors who suffer from allergy are reminded that the Memorial site is an open green area.
The tour includes stretches leading through Jewish cemeteries; men are required by tradition to cover their heads when visiting a cemetery. - Where can I read more about KL Plaszow prior to the meeting?

The Jewish cemeteries in Podgórze
The participants in the guided tour will be offered the opportunity to discover the history of two Jewish cemeteries (the old cemetery used by the Jewish Religious Community of Podgórze, and the new cemetery used by the Jewish Religious Community of Kraków), the scale and consequences of their wartime devastation, and the forms of their commemoration that can (or cannot) be observed in physical space.
